Drum Scales: Durable and Accurate Industrial Drum Scales have a number of important characteristics, including the platform size, platform capacity, accuracy, durability and cost. Generally, any of the first four may be improved, but only be increasing the cost. By a combination of excellent engineering, efficient manufacturing made in the USA, and a unique sales channel that eliminates a middle tier, Brightscale industrial drum scales offer the best feature-to-price ratio available. This gets combined into a state of the art, easy to use instrument with an impressive list of standard features and options. A large, graphics LCD readout screen and a powerful data communication set round out the feature set.
- Platform Size – Drum scales are usually limited in platform size because the load cells are housed in bulky rails along the size of the platform. This makes it difficult to weigh larger loads or to use a pallet. These scales offer a design that eliminates the rails, providing unobstructed access to the platform.
- Platform Capacity – Platform Capacity – Standard capacities are 500 lb and 1000 lb. Other custom values may be special ordered.
- Accuracy – Leading edge electronics coupled with specialized alloy stainless steel load cells result in drum scales with high levels of accuracy and repeatability. For especially challenging applications, the Ultra Precision drum scales provide ten to twenty times the accuracy level of any other scale offered.
- Durability – Most drum scales with these capacities are made from sheet metal. Instead, for superior durability, welded construction is used throughout these scales. Most platform scales use painted steel components. Instead, these drum scales use stainless steel for the load cells, and aluminum for the body, offering excellent rust protection. For those environments that require chemical resistance, full stainless steel construction is available.
